Interview Tips

The CV worked and you got yourself an interview arranged. What now?

Many people will simply turn up and bluff their way through, but as a Job-Hunting-Tips.com visitor, you'll be more prepared than them.

This section highlights some of the more typical scenarios you'll be faced with and hopefully, will provide you with the tools to get through.

As the subject of interviews is such a complex one, the information has been split into sections. These appear below, along with a short description of each.

Different companies employ different interview tactics and no two managers ever have the same interview style.

Before your interview, you have no idea which type of interview you are going to get, so it's difficult to prepare.

Instead, you'll need to be able to recognise the style of interview that your interviewer is adopting, so that you can react and behave accordingly.

It should be noted that most line managers are actually pretty poor interviewers and they'll often be as uncomfortable as you are, since few have had any formal interview training. Even those who have, often had the wrong type of training!

So, let's take a look at some of the scenarios you'll be faced with and see what we can do to overcome them.
